EXPECT MORE GOALS.
See the game differently.
xG Hockey uses video, modern hockey analysis, and real game examples to show players which decisions are creating chances — and which ones are leaving offense on the table.
Complex analysis. Simple decisions.
New to video coaching? Try an Intro Review — $49
The $149 Player Analysis is the standard starting point. The $49 Intro Review is a low-risk way to experience xG Hockey with your own game before committing to the full analysis.
More training isn’t always the answer.
Players spend hundreds of hours skating, shooting, practicing, and attending camps.
But as the level gets higher, almost everyone can skate. Almost everyone can shoot.
The difference increasingly becomes what you see, when you see it, and what you decide to do next.
A shot from two feet farther inside.
A pass across the slot before the defense recovers.
Getting the puck off your stick before the goalie resets.
Receiving a difficult pass without losing the next play.
Those small decisions add up.
xG Hockey helps players see them.
The game is being watched differently.
It used to be simple advice:
You never know who might be sitting in the stands.
Today, the game doesn’t disappear when the buzzer sounds.
Games are increasingly streamed, recorded, clipped, reviewed, and analyzed. Coaches and scouts can watch players from almost anywhere. Video and analytical tools are also making more aspects of performance easier to identify and measure.
Shift length. Shot selection. Backchecking. Puck decisions. Passing habits. What you do away from the puck.
The game is being measured more closely. Players should understand what is being measured.
xG Hockey helps players understand the habits good coaches already value — and how those habits actually show up on video.
Not a stats report. Not random video commentary.
There are two common ways to analyze hockey.
One gives players a pile of statistics.
The other watches film and comments on whatever happens to stand out.
xG Hockey takes a different approach.
1. Identify the pattern
Use a structured offensive framework to find the decisions that matter.
2. Make it visible
Use clips, telestration, and elite examples to show exactly what happened.
3. Make it simple
Turn the analysis into a few decisions a player can actually remember on the ice.
Identify. Visualize. Translate. Apply.
See the difference.

Start with a Player Analysis.
Player Analysis — $149
The standard starting point for individual players.
Send one game for a structured review built around the decisions affecting your offense.
The goal is not to give you every observation from the game. It is to identify the most important patterns, make them visible on video, and give you a manageable set of changes you can actually use.
You’ll receive:
Structured review of one game
Selected and telestrated video clips
Strengths worth reinforcing
Development opportunities
Clear coaching cues and priorities
Relevant elite examples when useful and available
Personalized recorded analysis
Typical turnaround: 3–5 business days after usable game video is received.
The finished video is intentionally concise. The value is in the analysis behind it — reviewing the film, selecting the right moments, and reducing the game to the decisions that matter.
New to video coaching?
Intro Review — $49
See what xG Hockey notices in your game before committing to the full analysis.
If you are not sure whether remote video coaching is right for you, start with a smaller personalized review using your own game.
You’ll receive:
Review of one game
3 focused observations
A small set of selected clips
1 clear priority to work on next
Concise personalized recorded review
If you upgrade to a Player Analysis within 14 days, the full $49 is credited. You pay only the remaining $100.
The Intro Review is a paid introduction, not the standard xG Hockey service. It is intentionally narrower than the full Player Analysis.
Go deeper when it makes sense.
You do not need to climb the ladder. The Player Analysis is the normal starting point, and you can also begin with a 3-Game Pattern Analysis or Monthly Development when those better fit what you want to learn. The Intro Review exists only as a lower-risk way to experience xG Hockey before committing to the full Player Analysis.
3-Game Pattern Analysis — $399
What keeps happening?
Three games from the same general period are reviewed together to separate one-off plays from repeatable habits. Submit all three together, or within 30 days.
You’ll see what consistently creates offense, where chances are being lost, and what to prioritize next.
Monthly Development — $299/month
Are the habits actually changing?
Development isn’t about finding something new to criticize after every game. It’s about identifying a few important habits, working on them, and seeing whether they’re changing.
Each monthly cycle includes:
Analysis of up to 3 games, reviewed as a batch
One consolidated video review
Progress against previously identified habits
New clips and teaching examples
1–3 priorities for the next development period
Ongoing development history
$299/month · 3-month initial development cycle
Start small without paying a penalty for going deeper.
Upgrade within 14 days and eligible previous purchases are credited:
Intro Review → Player Analysis: full $49 credit. Pay only the remaining $100.
Intro Review → 3-Game Pattern Analysis: full $49 credit; the original game may count as Game 1 when suitable.
Player Analysis → 3-Game Pattern Analysis: full $149 credit; the original game becomes Game 1, then submit two additional games.
What do we actually look for?
Get Inside
Turn low-danger attempts into more dangerous ones.
Change the Angle
Make the goalie move before the shot.
Cross the Slot
Recognize when east-west puck movement creates an opening.
Attack Quickly
Make the next play before the defense resets.
Create the Next Chance
Not every shot is meant to beat the goalie clean.
Own the Puck
Receive difficult passes and keep the next play alive.
The analytics behind these ideas can get complicated. The decision on the ice shouldn’t be.
Built for players who want to understand the game.
xG Hockey is best suited for ambitious U14–U18 skaters who already have a foundation of skating and puck skills and want to become more effective players.
You don’t need to understand analytics.
You do need to be curious, coachable, and willing to put the work in.
What xG Hockey won’t promise
We won’t promise a roster spot, scholarship, draft selection, or a specific number of goals.
We will show you what we’re seeing, explain why it matters, and give you specific decisions and habits to work on.
The work after that is yours.
Built from years behind the bench.
xG Hockey was founded by Mark Rinaldi, a longtime coach with experience spanning Harvard University's Club (ACHA) program, high school, and Major U18 hockey.
His background in economics, mathematics, coaching, and modern hockey analytics led to a simple question:
Can the patterns buried inside hockey data be taught in a way a player can actually use?
xG Hockey is the answer.
A better hockey mind lasts longer than a stat line.
Not every player will be drafted to the NHL. There are more undrafted players in the NHL than players from any individual draft round past the second round.
Learning to study the game, respond to feedback, recognize patterns, and understand why things work has value far beyond the next roster decision.
Some players stay connected to hockey as coaches, analysts, scouts, executives, or in entirely different careers.
The goal is to help players get more from the game while they’re playing it — and understand it more deeply because they did.
Coach or team?
Give your staff another set of eyes on the game.
xG Hockey provides structured video and analytical support for teams that want clearer teaching points without adding another full-time coach or analyst.
